Becoming a Member or Renewing a Membership

Thank you for your interest in becoming a member or renewing your membership of the
South Carolina Academy of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery.

Membership Benefits

Reduced rate registration at the annual meeting
Membership in the largest association of dermatologists in the state

Membership Levels

Emeritus Membership

Upon the recommendation of one member, seconded by another member, and by a three fourths (3/4) vote at the annual meeting, Emeritus membership can be conferred upon any Active member in the Association who has attained the age of 65, who has been in active medical practice for thirty (30) years, or who is permanently incapacitated.

An Emeritus member shall have none of the obligations of the Active membership in the Association and may not hold office, but shall be entitled to the privileges of making motions and of voting.

Associate Membership

Physicians who are not otherwise eligible for active membership, nurse practitioners and physician’s assistants shall be eligible for Associate membership in the Association.

A nurse practitioner or physician’s assistants may continue Associate membership as long as he or she is affiliated with a physician member in good standing of the South Carolina Academy of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery.
Become an Associate Member or Renew

Active Membership

Any physician beginning the practice of dermatology (whether in private practice, academic practice, or while practicing as a dermatologist on active duty in a branch of the Armed Services or U.S. Public Health Service)in the State of South Carolina thereafter, and who is a Diplomate of or has been eligible for examination by the American Board of Dermatology, or by an American Board of Medical Specialties dermatology subspecialty shall be eligible for Active membership.
